A born and bred Londoner to American and German parents Nicolas decided that the University of Sussex's English department could wait a few years and went to get a job. Three years later he was head of PR at Lock & Co. Nicolas prides himself on a combining a deep understanding of tradition and craftsmanship whilst often being a little irreverent to it, choosing to focus on brands that are well informed, innovative and well-designed rather than merely traditional. Since leaving Lock & Co a year ago Nicolas has been freelance styling and writing as well as consulting for companies such as Pokit and Anderson & Sheppard in addition to training in Butchery.
