Hunting High and Low

An inside view of HUNT, Arran Gregory’s newest exhibition

On view this weekend during Frieze art week is British artist Arran Gregory‘s new solo exhibition entitled HUNT. Curated by Teriha Yaegashi, the immersive solo exhibition presents the newest works of this rising star.

Arran is a rising star in the art world. He was recently commissioned by Johnnie Walker (see here) and Ralph Lauren (see here) for custom artworks, and this exhibition at the historic Old Truman Brewery marks his largest solo exhibition to date. Inspired by the Amur leopard, the world’s most endangered big cat, Gregory has created 20 true-to-life-sized leopard sculptures out of mirror as a nod to the number of those existing in the wild, which at the time of the production was hovering around 35. Alongside the sculptures are 4 large-scale paintings on canvas which presents a more raw view into the sculptural process, as well as a series of silkscreen prints and experimental photographs in collaboration with photographer David Ellis.

A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition will be awarded to ALTA (the Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance), as well as the Long Live South Bank Campaign. riddle_stop 2
