EH Shepard at War

Last chance to see the wartime sketches of Winnie-the-Pooh illustrator

A small but very special exhibition closes it’s doors this Sunday. The House of Illustration has run an exhibition showing the First World War sketches of famed illustrator EH Shepard. As a Royal Artillery officer he served on the Western Front and in Italy. The display is small and shows his skill and eye in capturing the absurd, whimsical and comic moments of Army life - despite the carnage around him. This was (to a biased fellow ex Artillery officer!) one of my standout exhibitions of last year – see it before it closes. riddle_stop 2
