The 88th Academy Awards hits our TV screens from LA
Hosted by Chris Rock, this evening sees the 88th Academy Awards broadcast live from LA. Controversially this year sees, for the second year running, no African- American actors or actresses nominated in the Best or Best Supporting categories prompting #OscarsSoWhite. Given only 2 per cent of the Academy’s voters were black in 2014, this predicament doesn’t come as much of a surprise with a boycott expected by prominent African- American members of the industry.
Exclusive to Sky TV, coverage starts at 10pm UK time with the red carpet expected to start at 11.30pm and the actual ceremony kicking off at 1.30am.
