Riddle me this… Will Edward
Riddle gets up close and personal with our Ace model
If you knew then what you know now… would you still do it?
Definitly, although I would have sat and made a plan of what I wanted and how I was going to get to each point. There was a lot of uncertainty when I started and wasted time.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Just be nice. Be nice to everyone. Talk to everyone as you have no idea who they are, or how. Even just being polite could help them through something. People always remember you that way; if you can have a laugh with someone then they are going to want to hang out with you again.. hopefully on a job.
What’s the weirdest rumour you’ve ever heard about yourself?
I’ve been linked to a few semi famous people at times, mainly men, which is amusing because 1) I’ve never gone near a celebrity in that way and 2) I’m straight!
What was your biggest break?
Being born into a music management family, from my earliest memories I was being introduced to the right people and taught skills to interact with everyone; even the most difficult diva and to take something from any situation. Closely followed by having my music picked up on Youtube by a label, without any family help.
Do you consider yourself lucky?
At points yes, but I always believe if you’re working your arse off then the amount of luck you seem to have increases.. coincidence? I think not. As my favourite book, The Alchemist, says “If someone wants something badly enough, the universe will conspire to make it happen”. The way I read that, is to show you want it badly enough, you have to really be busting a gut. And of course “reading the omens” that are presented to you.
What’s most important in your life?
Family, close circle of friends, the charity events I do and finally the band I am in (www.omyofficial.com), as the music being more successful is allowing me to spend more time with family and friends and hopefully amplifying the effect on the charity work.
What brands do you admire?
An Italian street wear brand called GCDS. I did their campaign and became friends with them, I’ve never known a harder working group of people, who are also very, very humble. Just an incredible team. They’ve helped out my band a lot, when they didn’t need to.
Do you have a guilty pleasure – if so what is it?
Percy Pigs. I cannot stop eating them (vegetarian pigs of course). I’ve tried to think up ways that I can become a brand endorser for them!
Describe your personal sense of style.
Black basics with a bright touch, mainly pink.
