Following on its initial success following the firm’s re-founding, Fears is introducing a new colour to their elegant watch range
Article by Rupert Watkins
Re-founded in 2016 by the original founder’s great, great, great grandson Nicholas Bowman-Scargill, Fears has seen much interest and success in its initial revived 10 months. Off the back of this success and to carefully enlarge the collection, Nicholas is launching the “Pebble Grey” watch face on his Redcliff Date watch.
Sitting alongside the existing “Jetliner White” and “Fears Blue” watch faces, Nicholas explains the inspiration came from the white-veined grey pebbles that are found on Britain’s stony beaches. “The time felt right to introduce a new elegant colour to the range,” Nicholas comments. The result is certainly refined and understated allowing the details of the watch to shine and for a vibrant strap (should that be your thing) to take the eye. As Nicholas says, “Clean and minimal, “Pebble Grey” is ideally suited to the modern man or women wishing to wear a watch that will look good for decades to come.” Fears already has a 4:1 male to female customer ratio and both the style of the Redcliff Date and the current trend for women to wear more masculine watches will certainly help Nicholas expand this side of his customer base with the “Pebble Grey”.
This latest watch face will give up to 18 possible dial and strap combinations for the Fears customer. This does not include the options available through Nicholas’ recently launched Fears Custom division where customers can chose a completely bespoke strap as well as engraving on the case back.
