Riddle me this… Alice Thorogood and Rosie Turner
Riddle gets up close and personal with founders of British style brand Hicks & Brown
If you knew then what you know now… would you still do it?
Yes definitely, we would never go back to our corporate jobs. We’ve learnt so much and wouldn’t change it for the world.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Don’t be afraid to try new things. Even if they don’t work, you will always learn from it.
What’s the weirdest rumour you’ve ever heard about yourself?
Luckily we haven’t heard anything weird, but if there are any, we’d love to hear them!
What was your biggest break?
Not getting a job as an accountant when I graduated, life could’ve taken a very different path!
Do you consider yourself lucky?
Yes definitely, we are so lucky to be able to work together. Being sisters we can completely trust one another and know exactly where the other is coming from.
What’s most important in your life?
Family and friends for making us believe in ourselves and being there to listen to all our ideas, even if some of them were farfetched!
What brands do you admire?
It’s got to be ‘Apple’. It’s sad to say we’d be lost without our iPhones and Macs!
Do you have a guilty pleasure – if so what is it?
Haribo and chocolate… we both have a massive sweet tooth!
Describe your personal sense of style.
Being sisters, we love the same clothes and have, on occasion, been known to turn up in the same outfit! Normally consisting of leopard print shoes, skinny jeans and of course a Hicks & Brown gilet.
