Up close and personal with Monisha Robinson, founder of avant garde men’s accessories brand Mocaro
If you knew then what you know now……….would you still do it?
Yes, because it’s got me to the place where I am today. Everything happens for a wise purpose and I believe in doing what you love. All that I have learned about business provided me a valuable life experience and still believe I have more to learn.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
My mother once told me the view is worth the climb. No matter how hard a situation maybe never be discouraged because, success is a journey and trying is far more important than the outcome.
What’s the weirdest rumour you’ve ever heard about yourself?
Hmm not quite sure! Haven’t heard one.
What was your biggest break?
I’d say the brand is awaiting its biggest break, however I am proud to have found a niche in the men’s market and create innovative pieces for a celebrity clientele.
Do you consider yourself lucky?
I don’t consider myself lucky. I consider myself fortunate that I have wonderful family and friends as well as being in good health. There are many people in the world who are disadvantage for various reasons and in poor health. Therefore, I am very appreciative of all the great things I have going in my life.
What’s most important in your life?
My family are my number one priority. My career, health and wellbeing are also important factors; because without these, it would be very difficult to accomplish my greatest achievements to date.
What brands do you admire?
It’s very hard to choose. I admire any brand who create innovative invention’s that changes the world! I must say I admire apple for their design, quality, built innovation and how they continually evolve. As per Steve Jobs, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
Do you have a guilty pleasure – if so what is it?
Having relaxed Sunday’s watching films! Whilst watching films, snuggled up in a warm duvet, I like to treat myself to some chocolate brownies with ice-cream.
Describe your personal sense of style.
Sleek and simplistic. I always have classic item’s in my wardrobe and often wear colours such as burgundy, beige, black and blue. I also wear particular statement accessories that enhance my style.
