Riddle me this… Guy Shepherd

Riddle gets up close and personal with the Sales Force behind Guy & Max

If you knew then what you know now… would you still do it?
100%. Creating a jewellery brand, without the budgets of the established competition, is fascinating. As our fan club grows and grows, I feel more and more satisfaction towards all the hard work that has had to go in.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Do it now.

What’s the weirdest rumour you’ve ever heard about yourself?
They are all weird. And true.

What was your biggest break?
I was happy in the diamond trade but my biggest break has to be when my brother, Max, approached me with his own digital design concept and 3D printing idea over ten years ago. Way ahead of his time….

Do you consider yourself lucky?

Of course. I have a sensational jewellery brand and am happy. I just have to turn on a TV and see how fortunate I am compared to many around this crazy world.

What’s most important in your life?
Whether at work or play, family always comes first.

What brands do you admire?
Lock for hats, Dashing Tweeds for…, 5 Hertford Street for fun, MV Augusta and Maserati for dreaming.

Do you have a guilty pleasure – if so what is it?
That’s easy. All of them, except gambling which doesn’t work for me (having lost my life savings in a casino aged eighteen).

Describe your personal sense of style.
Old School, not Skool e.g. lashings of tweed, ties, cavalry boots and Chelsea hat.riddle_stop 2
