Heavy Duty Gardening

Landscape architects Harry and David Rich bring the ‘Shack’ to RHS Chelsea

This year’s RHS Chelsea Flower show will see a garden which, for the first time, includes heavy duty engineering elements. The garden in question is the Cloudy Bay garden designed by landscape architects bothers Harry and David Rich, who have incorporated a steel and oak structure into the space. The ‘Shack’ is inspired by Cloudy Bay’s headquarters in New Zealand and mimics the wooden oak slats and glass facade seen in the original structure.

The shack offers the opportunity to enjoy the garden in any weather and will traverse from one side of the garden to the other three times a day (at 11am, 4pm and 6pm) moving along steel tracks integrated into the design of the space. riddle_stop 2
